Initial Consultation and Treatment
What to expect at your first appointment
Consultation on current concerns and history of previous conditions.
Assessment of symptoms and physical examination, including orthopaedic and neurological testing.
Treatment. Results of the assessment and a plan of chiropractic care is discussed. You will be given information on chiropractic and medical acupuncture before your treatment, and aftercare advice .
The first appointment includes Consultation, Assessment and Treatment
The frequency and number of treatments depend on many factors including age, extent and duration of injury, general fitness and posture. As a guide, you will have three treatments (40mins appointment time) before a reassessment of progress.
In some circumstances you may be asked to remove items of clothing in order to treat, and gowns are provided. We ensure that you are clear and comfortable with what to expect, and how best to help yourself after the treatment.
If it is felt that you cannot be treated within the clinic, you will be referred to your GP or appropriate specialist.
Maintenance check-ups are encouraged. These can be as required or on a fixed basis. Some patients prefer more frequent check-ups to relieve pain, improve mobility and maintain health.
